Pakistan Standard Time is 5 hours ahead of Universal Time or Greenwich Mean Time (London). It gets dark at about 5 p.m. in winter and at 7.30 p.m. in summer. Sunday is weekly holiday. But most shops throughout the country including the major department stores and shopping complexes stay open. Shorter hours during Ramadan (fasting month) are observed throughout Pakistan.

Banks:	Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 09:00 -13:30  :Friday 09:00 - 12:30.
Department Stores:	Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 09:00 - 17:00
Shops:	Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 09:00 - 17:00
Private Business	Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 09:00 - 17:00
